The Nepali Congress's newly elected central working committee is set to hold its first meeting on Friday, October 30, after the party's new office bearers and members are sworn in at its Sanepa office on Thursday, October 29. The committee came out of the party's 15th general convention, held from October 4 to 9, which elected Gagan Kumar Thapa president.
The first meeting is to put the views of the newly elected members, many of them young, first and to set the party's future direction. It may also discuss dates for the district and provincial conventions, which the party plans for Mangsir (from November 17), though the decision could wait for a meeting after the Chhath festival. With local representatives' terms ending on May 13, 2027, the party is also preparing for local elections, and Thapa has proposed a campaign running through Mangsir.
