Two young men from Kanchanpur, Manish Bohara, 20, and Sagar Karki, 21, have been out of contact in the Badimalika area of Bajura since heavy snowfall hit the region, according to the District Police Office in Bajura. They were part of a five-member group that set out from Martadi to visit the Badimalika temple; the other three have returned. The two were still out of contact as of Saturday afternoon, October 31.
Police Inspector Naresh Bahadur Shahi, the police information officer, said Bohara lost contact on Friday on the way back from the temple and Karki could not be reached from Friday night, after telling police by phone that his friend was missing and he was at Triveni Patan. Rain since Friday has brought snow to the high areas and made rescue difficult, Shahi said; police are preparing to send a team from Martadi.
