Arya Pharmalab signs three-year deal as NPL health partner
Arya Pharmalab has agreed a three-year deal with the Cricket Association of Nepal to be the health partner of the Nepal Premier League, with health check booths at the stadium and cash awards for players and spectators.
Arya Pharmalab has signed a three-year agreement with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to be the health partner of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). The company, which is entering its 30th year, says the partnership is meant to use cricket to raise health awareness and to tie sport more closely to public health.
Under the deal, Arya Pharmalab is running health consultations, a health check room, awareness programmes and recreational activities at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, where NPL matches are played, according to reports in Annapurna Post, Setopati, Nagarik, Lokpath and Karobar Daily. The company says it aims to offer spectators basic health checks, advice and information on healthy living.
The partnership also comes with prizes. Through a "Healthy Partnership Award", two players in every match will each receive Rs 25,000 in recognition of their performance and sportsmanship. One spectator at every match will receive Rs 20,000 as the "moment of the match" award.
The company describes the partnership, launched as it marks three decades, as an important milestone, and says linking health messages to a sport as popular as cricket can carry them to a large number of people.
