Government extends deadline for company renewals and tax waivers
Companies that missed filing or renewal deadlines now have until the end of Poush (January 14, 2027) to submit their details and pay fiscal year 2082/83 taxes, with earlier taxes, interest and fines waived.
The government of Nepal has extended the deadline for companies to submit outstanding details and settle their tax obligations, giving businesses a window to regularize their status without paying past penalties. According to reports from Corporate Nepal, Nagarik News, DC Nepal and Bizmandu, the new deadline is the end of Poush 2083 (January 14, 2027).
The decision, taken on Monday, October 26, 2026 (Kartik 9, 2083), moves the previous cutoff from the end of Asoj (October 17, 2026). The extension applies to companies registered under the Companies Act, 2063, that did not submit required details, renew their registration, or pay required taxes, fees, charges, interest or fines within the time set by law.
Relief for non-compliant firms
Companies that want either to continue operating or to cancel their registration can use this period. If they pay the taxes, fees and charges due for fiscal year 2082/83 and submit the required details by the end of Poush, all taxes, fees, charges, interest and fines accrued before that will be waived.
Bizmandu reported that the Ministry of Finance extended the deadline by three months, citing a press note sent by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle. According to Corporate Nepal, the ministry said it acted after a growing number of service users asked for more time.
Nagarik News noted that the extension gives companies that have for a long time not filed details, renewed their registration or met their financial obligations another chance to complete the legal process.
