The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikash Samitee has set the auspicious time for Bhai Tika at 11:07 am on November 11 as part of this year's Tihar festival.
The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikash Samitee, the national authority responsible for determining the calendar of festivals, has officially announced the auspicious timing for this year's Bhai Tika. According to the committee, the most favorable time for the ritual is 11:07 am on November 11.
Committee member Laxman Panthi confirmed the timing to Onlinekhabar, noting that the ritual marks the conclusion of the Yama Panchak, commonly known as Tihar. The festival period is set to commence on November 6, according to details released by the committee and reported by Setopati and Onlinekhabar English.
Festival Schedule
The five-day festival begins on Friday, November 6, with Dhanatrayodashi (Dhanteras) and Yamadeepdan. On Saturday, November 7, the nation will observe Kag Tihar and Dhanwantari Jayanti. The following day, Sunday, November 8, includes Narak Chaturdashi, Kukur Tihar, and Laxmi Puja. Monday, November 9, is designated for Gai Puja, while Tuesday, November 10, will see the observance of Govardhan Puja, Goru Puja, Bali Puja, Halitihar, and Mha Puja. This day also marks the beginning of Nepal Sambat 1147.
The final day, Wednesday, November 11, is dedicated to Yama Dwitiya and Bhai Tika. In a statement issued by the committee's executive director, Ghanshyam Bhusal, the guidelines for the ritual specify that brothers should face west and sisters should face east while performing the ceremony.
While the core details regarding the date and time are consistent across reports from Onlinekhabar, Setopati, and Annapurna Post, the committee's official release serves as the primary reference for these cultural observances. The announcement ensures that households across the country can align their celebrations with the traditional astrological timing provided by the state-sanctioned body.
