The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a corruption case at the Special Court in Kathmandu on October 29, 2026, against four people over library grants at Mannedhunga Secondary School in Kushe Rural Municipality-2, Jajarkot. The case followed a complaint that school officials and staff had borrowed grants received from the District Education Office and never repaid them.
The commission accuses former school management committee chairman Harichandra Jaisi, former headmaster Dhan Bahadur Singh and former accounting assistant Dhirendra Bahadur Singh of colluding to misappropriate Rs 1,741,446 by showing the money as loans taken against the law, and has claimed that sum from each of them. It has also claimed Rs 100,000 from Janak Bahadur Nepali, a committee member. The charges are under Section 17 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059; the court has yet to rule.
