Gen Z activist Raksha Bam has criticised the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and its chairman, Rabi Lamichhane, writing in a Facebook post on Friday, October 30, that the RSP-led government "smells of Panchayat-era politics". The post, a protest against the arrest of journalists, told Lamichhane that his party no longer needed to raise the slogan of good governance.
Bam accused the party of intimidating the press, pointing to times when, she said, its own cadres parked vehicles in front of media houses and people went inside media houses to frighten journalists. Shilapatra reported that she wrote after police began picking up journalists from media houses. Her post was reported by at least a dozen Nepali outlets, among them Nagarik, Onlinekhabar, Shilapatra and Khabarhub.
