India has clinched the five-match T20 International series against New Zealand with two games remaining, following a dominant six-wicket victory in Wellington on Tuesday. Chasing a target of 199, the Indian side completed the win in just 13.2 overs. The chase was spearheaded by opening batter Abhishek Sharma, who scored 113 runs off 38 balls, including 11 sixes and nine fours. Sharma reached his century in 35 balls, a performance Indian captain Shreyas Iyer described as exceptional. He was supported by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who added 45 runs from 19 balls, forming a 133-run partnership in 7.1 overs.
New Zealand, batting first, posted 198 for 3, led by an unbeaten 89 from Daryl Mitchell. Despite the hosts' competitive total, their bowling attack struggled to contain India's aggressive batting. Kyle Jamieson claimed two wickets for New Zealand, but the team could not prevent India from maintaining its unbeaten series record. The two sides are set to meet again on Friday at Eden Park in Auckland.
