Janakpur Bolts won their first match of the Nepal Premier League's third season on Thursday, beating Kathmandu Gorkhaz by eight wickets at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur. Kathmandu were bowled out for 115, with Rahul Yadav taking four wickets for 31, and Janakpur reached 116 in 17.2 overs as Moeen Ali (58 not out) and Saif Hassan (40 not out) shared an unbroken stand of 79. The team is also backing "Sixes for Her Future", a campaign led by youth ambassador Dr. Sarisha Shrestha that pledges Rs 2,000 for every Janakpur wicket and six in designated matches towards the education of disadvantaged girls in Madhesh Province. It raised Rs 28,000 from the opening match, on top of an initial Rs 150,000 fund from sponsor Arksh Group, and aims to support at least 10 students.
