Liverpool and Manchester City have secured their places in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after penalty shoot-out victories on Wednesday. Both clubs needed spot-kicks to get past their opponents, Chelsea and Brighton, after normal time ended level.
Liverpool edge past Chelsea
At Anfield, Liverpool beat Chelsea 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, Nagarik News and Setopati reported. Both goals came from the penalty spot in the first half. Liverpool were level three minutes later when Cody Gakpo converted a penalty awarded for a handball by Wesley Fofana.
