Ninth Virat Expo 2026 to showcase industrial and career opportunities in Biratnagar
The ninth Virat Expo 2026 in Biratnagar will focus on connecting youth, entrepreneurs, and industries through career guidance and business summits.
The Morang Industrial Organization has announced that the ninth edition of the Virat Expo 2026 will take place in Biratnagar from December 17 to 26, 2026. The event, which will be held at the Degree Campus premises in Biratnagar-14, aims to move beyond traditional trade exhibition formats by positioning itself as a comprehensive platform for industry, education, and investment.
A focus on ecosystem building
According to the organizers, the expo is built around the slogan "The Ecosystem of Opportunities." Morang Industrial Organization Chairman Nandkishor Rathi stated that the event is designed to bridge the gap between various stakeholders, including students, entrepreneurs, and established industrial players. The organizers intend to facilitate connections that address current market needs, such as the demand for skilled labor and the necessity for startup capital.
Programs and platforms
The expo will feature over 275 stalls, including dedicated sections for industrial and corporate entities, agriculture, automobiles, and small-scale enterprises. A key component of this year's event is the "Learn for the Future" program, which seeks to provide career guidance and skill development training to students and youth. This initiative covers eight specific sectors, including industrial automation, hospitality, and health, as reported by Nagarik News and Ratopati.
For budding entrepreneurs, the event will host a "Startup and Entrepreneurship Pavilion" featuring boot camps and design thinking workshops. Additionally, a "Business Development Services Connect" platform will be available to assist businesses with legal consultations, branding, and market access. The three-day "Virat Business Summit 2026–Opportunity Connect" will also run concurrently, bringing together representatives from all 14 districts of Koshi Province to discuss regional economic potential and facilitate business-to-business meetings.
Targets and expectations
Organizers have set ambitious goals for the ten-day event. According to Annapurna Post and Onlinekhabar, the expo aims to attract over 250,000 visitors and engage 25,000 students. The Morang Industrial Organization also expects to facilitate more than 1,500 business matchmaking opportunities and connect approximately 2,000 youth with potential employment. Furthermore, the event aims to present at least 20 investable startup projects to prospective investors. The exhibition will also highlight major industrial products from the Sunsari-Morang industrial corridor and showcase local goods from across Koshi Province.
