International passengers arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport can now track their luggage in real-time through newly installed video feeds in the baggage claim area. Launched on November 6, 2026, the system provides travelers with direct visibility into the baggage handling process from the arrival hall. Officials anticipate that this transparency will minimize the uncertainty and frustration previously associated with waiting for checked items to reach the carousel, allowing passengers to better estimate wait times.
Initiated by the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Khadakraj Paudel 'Ganesh,' the project is part of a wider government strategy to modernize airport services and align Nepal’s primary international gateway with global standards. The airport authority stated that the integration of these digital tools aims to make the arrivals experience more efficient and organized. This initiative marks the latest effort by the ministry to utilize technology to enhance passenger convenience and operational transparency.
