Frequently asked questions
How do I work out my age in Nepali date?
Type your date of birth in BS or in AD, and the other fills in. Your age is counted to today in Kathmandu, in Bikram Sambat and in AD. To count it to another day, such as an application's closing date, change Age on.
Why are my BS age and AD age different?
Each is counted in its own calendar's months. Nepali months run from 29 to 32 days and start partway through the English ones, so the months and days can differ by a few, and close to a birthday the years can too.
How many days are there between two dates?
Put the earlier date in Date of birth and the later one in Age on. Days is the count between them, not counting the first.
How is age counted for a Lok Sewa or school application?
By the rule in that notice, which may count to its closing date or to a fixed day. Set Age on to the day the notice names, and check its own rule before you apply.
What if I was born on the 32nd, or on February 29?
In a year whose month is shorter, the birthday falls on the month's last day: the 31st, or February 28.
