Frequently asked questions

What is the petrol price in Nepal today?

Nepal Oil Corporation's price since Kartik 14, 2083 (October 31, 2026) is Rs 200 a litre of petrol and Rs 200 a litre of diesel in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal, and Rs 2,060 for a 14.2 kg cylinder of LP gas.

Who sets fuel prices in Nepal?

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), which imports and sells all of Nepal's petrol, diesel, kerosene and LP gas. A new price takes effect on the day NOC names, and holds until its next revision.

Why is petrol cheaper in some places?

NOC sells petrol, diesel and kerosene at three prices, by the depot a pump buys from: the Terai depots charge the least, Surkhet and Dang a little more, and Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal the most. LP gas is one price at every depot.

How often do fuel prices change?

Whenever Nepal Oil Corporation revises them, which can be a few times a month or not for months. Every revision is listed under Price revisions, and the chart shows how each price has moved.

Where do these prices come from?

From Nepal Oil Corporation's own published prices, checked every hour. If they can't be read for two days, the page says when they were last checked.
