Frequently asked questions
How do I convert Preeti to Unicode?
Paste the Preeti text into the Preeti box and the Unicode appears in the other box as you type. Copy it with the button above the box. To go the other way, type or paste into the Unicode box.
What is the difference between Preeti and Unicode?
Preeti is a font that draws Nepali letters over the keys of an English keyboard, so a Preeti document stores English letters, and where the font is missing (on a phone, in an email, on the web) नेपाल shows as “g]kfn”. Unicode stores the Nepali letters themselves, so the text reads the same on every device and can be searched.
How do I use the Preeti text in Word?
Copy it from the Preeti box, paste it into Word and set the font to Preeti. On a computer without the Preeti font it shows as English letters.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, and nothing you type or paste leaves your device.
Why do some words come out wrong?
English words and figures typed in a Preeti document turn into Nepali letters, and other old Nepali fonts put letters on different keys. Convert only the Preeti part, and check names and figures before you use the text.
